Juniper Flat Fire Safe Council Projects

Free Chipper Days and Community Outreach Project

With the awarding of grants the last 2 years by the Siskiyou County Resource Advisory Committee, administered by the Klamath National Forest, the JFFSC offered a free mobile brush and chipping service to property owners within the fire district. As we work to meet the goal of 100’ of defensible space around homes, the chipping service was provided to 62 sites during our spring and fall campaign. This project follows on the heals of the previous year’s chipping grant, both include educational goals to raise awareness of the danger of escaped burn piles and encourage chipping as a safer alternative.
