Located in the South end of the Scott River Watershed, French Creek serves as a unique example of a delicate ecosystem accommodating a diverse number of land uses.
The upper area of the French Creek watershed is in the congressionally designated Russian Wilderness, a premier recreation destination. Land in the lower portion of the watershed is managed primarily for timber production.
In addition to numerous private residences, the J H Guest Ranch is located in the heart of the watershed and is an outdoor school, covering 360 acres, with a full service lodge, living quarters, and training areas.
Grant Update, April 2008:
The French Creek Fire Safe Council is pleased to announce the awarding of funding to complete the French Creek Fuels Modification Project. This important project will protect the community from the devestating effects of wildland fire.
